What’s ‘N’ a word?

This week Tammi Lorraine and DOVER&DOVER have a conversation with Yemi a member of the NAACP.

The three of them discuss a word that was empowered by the ignorance of racism and oppression yet embraced by a society of art and liberal creativity. What exactly is the ‘N’ word? Many argue it to be a term of endearment others to be a word representing the shackled mentality of a ‘potentially’ great people. Tune in and you decide.

As we sort through “Peace/Piece Letters” don’t forget to send in yours. If you are in need of ‘good advice’ (listen to last weeks show) let us know and we will give you some on the air. Tammi Lorraine and DOVER&DOVER will either give you a Peace of mind or a Piece of their mind.

BTW – Thank you for all of the LUV…We really appreciate it.

First off who really uses the word “B@#ch” with regards to a female dog? Even though it may’ve originated that way, usage in modern times is mainly derogatory. Furthermore, there’s so many things people shouldn’t say, things that should be kept amongst friends and within family for tact purposes. But keep it real, you can’t make anyone do or say anything; the tongue is the hardest thing to tame according to Paul or James (one of Jesus’ disciples). Anyone can say the N word, I say just be careful that you risk offending someone. If you aren’t of the race of people who share this word in past-time, with light humor, or satirical purpose, know that if you say it around them…you may get a mean look, cussed out or hit (that’s just cause and effect – you can choose your actions and not the outcome). As for me I don’t use it often. Because it’s sensitive to Blacks and Whites alike, I prefer to say my Ninja…same as saying “hi my close buddy”…”good to see you!” OK enuff of Justyce’s street philosophy ;-)

BTW I’m tired of this topic my Nij’s….but it’ll forever go on and on. I just wonder if people are really hurt by it, and if it indeed perpetuates damage and division, etc…I think everybody, Blacks, Whites, humans take ourselves too seriously and are too sensitive, and should move on to bigger thangs…On our best day w/o the blood of Jesus we are ALL a buncha Ninjas that need redemption, member that :-)

Oh my goodness you guys, I really really enjoyed this show. You have to do a part two. let me just say I love all your shows, this one is my favorite thus far. The “N” word…. I never was one to use the word due to the deragotory stigma attached to it. In addition, I always frowned upon those who chose to use it towards each other and in their music. Recently, Whoopi and the cast of the View discussed this topic and I was able to see Whoopi’s point of few on why the black race choose to use the “N” word amongst each other. She especially spoke about it being use as a “term of endearment”. Although, I understand her point of view, I still feel very uncomfortable with using the “N” word and prefer not to be addressed in this manner. Also, If we really feel it is okay for us to address each other this way, then everyone else should be able to with out any ramifications.
